The following Lorindina Sheche carvings are marked “ATS L.S. Zuni”
This hallmark was given to Lorindina by her mother and father. She learned her art working next to
Aaron & Thelma Sheche at their workbench in the heart of the Zuni Pueblo. The Sheche’s are religious people.
These Lorindina Sheche fetishes are made in the traditional way… made using deer sinew for the wrap…
the fetishes carry actual handmade arrowheads to protect them… theses are authentic ancient Zuni fetishes
(as seen in the Frank Cushing book of the 1880’s) made today.
Had Lorindina lived 500 years ago theses fetishes would have looked the same… the tools she used
a bit different… the resulting fetishes would have been much the same. These are Not mass produced,
They are are spiritual works of art from an ancient culture.
